Good things take time.

Great things take time and patience.

Wonderfully amazing things take time, patience, persistence and love.

We have wonderfully amazing news!

And we have a lot of love!

We are so very excited to share with you that…

IT’S A BOY!!!!!

Yes, we are officially matched with a little boy. And we hope to meet our boy in 3 to 4 months.

We never actually got “THE PHONE CALL” we were much anticipating.  In fact, how this boy came to us is a story in itself, filled with highs and lows. I will share this story soon as well as more details about our boy.

But for now, we share with you our glorious news.

“Each of us has a fire in our hearts for something. It is our goal in life to find it and to keep it lit.” -Mary Lou Retton

Today we are filled with emotion. We are ecstatic and amazed and head over heels in love. We are nervous and anxious and scared. This is a wonderful time for our family. Adoption is bringing us a boy; a very, very special boy. Adoption is making our family perfect.

The emotions were intense!

In this time of joy and anticipation, we celebrate. But we remain aware that adoption stems from loss. And adoption involves trauma. And this will always remain in our mind, in our heart. We will learn and we will grow as we bring our boy home. We will forever know that this boy is a part of our family and a part of our heart forever because of a very brave person who made an unimaginable decision. And this decision, one that most cannot even fathom having to make, is what brought him to us. It is what will soon make him a Forever Fitzgerald.

There is a boy, 3000 miles away from us, that will become a son.  He will be a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a godson.  And he is loved more than he could ever dream of.  We don’t know him more than a file and a precious (oh…so very, very precious) face, but our heart already knows him so very well!

“Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” –T.S. Eliot

We celebrated!
